Staheli West, Inc. was founded in 1994 by David Staheli. For over 30 years Dave has focused on developing the highest quality hay. In fact, David invented the only steam hydration system for hay bailing to address the issue of hay drying out too quickly due to dry weather.

The DewPoint Hay Steamer works by injecting steam into hay during the baling process, which helps to reduce leaf loss and improve the quality of the bales. This steam treatment is accomplished through a series of distribution manifolds mounted in the baler, ensuring even moisture distribution throughout the hay.

David’s invention has revolutionized the production of high-quality alfalfa around the world. The Staheli Hay Steamer is sold in seven countries, with recent expansion into new regions, including Africa. There are three different sizes of hay steamers to meet the particular needs of farmers.
